Q&A Section:

Q1: What exactly is Spryker Quest 2025?

A: Spryker Quest 2025 is a Spryker Systems developer competition for individual contributors and freelancers. Participants can win prizes by completing technical bounties (coding tasks) within a specific timeframe.

Q2: What kind of features are you looking for, and what are the general requirements?

A: We've outlined a series of exciting 'quests' that provide opportunities to tackle real-world development challenges and create valuable features for the Spryker community. Examples include adding "Digital Product" functionality, a "Recently Viewed Products" module, or even an "AI Copy Refinement for CMS Content" tool.

All submissions must adhere to our generic requirements for code quality, including MIT licensing (with exceptions for Spryker code), valid `composer.json`, PSR-2 compliant code formatting, and adherence to Spryker's coding conventions and best practices. Security, performance, and documentation are also key.

For detailed requirements for each quest, along with specific technical and functional expectations, please refer to the Spryker Quest landing page.

Q3: How do I participate in a quest?

A: It's simple! First, decide which quest(s) you want to compete in. Then, fill out the form on the landing page, and we'll create a private GitHub repository in our Spryker Community organization as your workspace. Once you've finished, submit your final work by July 31, 2025, including a ZIP file of your repository and a video (maximum 5 minutes) explaining the submission.

Q4: What are the important dates for Spryker Quest 2025?

A: The deadline to submit your Quest work is July 31, 2025. Winners will be showcased on September 24, 2025, at the EXCITE Developer Stage.

Q5: What kind of prizes can I win?

A: Each quest offers two types of prizes:

  • Quest Completion Prize: Eligible participants who submit valid code meeting bounty requirements within the campaign period will receive Spryker-branded merchandise (to be collected in person at Spryker Excite 2025) and a €100 Amazon voucher (or equivalent in local currency).
  • Best Submission Award: Among all valid submissions, a winning submission will be selected per quest based on jury evaluation. The winner will receive a €2,000 prize and an invitation to present their work at Spryker Excite 2025.

You can submit to multiple quests but can only claim one prize per quest.

Q6: How will submissions be judged for the Best Submission Award?

A: Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Complexity / Effort: The amount of work, time, and resources the contributor(s) likely needed to submit this contribution.
  • Code Quality / Architecture: The structure, readability, maintainability, and scalability of the code, along with adherence to best practices and design patterns.
  • Alignment with Requirements: How well the submission meets the specified requirements, including functionality, edge cases, and integration with the existing system.
  • Innovation: Any creative or novel solutions that go beyond the minimum requirements, adding extra value through new features, optimizations, or technical design.
