Hi all,
I am working with cart & checkout and two places are a bit confusing for me.
1. Why Spryker has Cart and PersistentCart clients, when Cart can use DatabaseStorageStrategy?
2. Why DatabaseStorageStrategy uses session without calling zed for some quote operations?

U already ask this in general channel.

Spryker use session in db strategy due performance issue (this said me 3 years ago when i asked the same question).

In our project we have this overwritten with also saving the data in db (with a check strategy to avoid a lot of zed calls not necessary) and it works very well...

Yes, because it isn’t about helping, but about design decision, but didn’t get any answer, so decided to try here 😄

Thank you for the response. It theoretically makes sense, but in the end we probably also will need to rewrite it.

Do you know why there is separatePersistentCart ?

For sharedQuote, quoteApproval and some feature that need the persistent Cart..

theoretically yes, but as we have DatabaseStrategy it could have be done with it. I’m just thinking about design decisions 🙂
