we are working on elastic search . Can you provide me the way how we break to default elastic search functionality and add custom elastic search functionality on project level.

Depends on the case.
For adding additional data into elasticsearch you can have a look at the https://github.com/spryker/product-page-search-extension/tree/master/src/Spryker/Zed/ProductPageSearchExtension/Dependency/Plugin (similar possibilities for category and content exist).

If you want to extend the capabilities during runtime, probably extending the query send to elasticsearch is the right approach: https://github.com/spryker/search-extension/blob/master/src/Spryker/Client/SearchExtension/Dependency/Plugin/QueryExpanderPluginInterface.php

But if you want to customize elasticsearch directly, for example with an extension that is capable of indexing pdf documents, this, if possible at all, something you will need to contact Spryker cloud operations team.

If you want to customize synonyms or how certain data is parsed and tokenized, you can create your own analyzers via src/Pyz/Shared/Search/Schema/page.json , but be aware that it has to use existing tokenizers.
