What are the Slack Archives?
Itβs a history of our time together in the Slack Community! Thereβs a ton of knowledge in here, so feel free to search through the archives for a possible answer to your question.
Because this space is not active, you wonβt be able to create a new post or comment here. If you have a question or want to start a discussion about something, head over to our categories and pick one to post in! You can always refer back to a post from Slack Archives if needed; just copy the link to use it as a reference..
π morning, from what I understand Spryker never updates the stock level, and depends on the ERP
Comments
-
saying that, the ERP probably won't have processed the order on the next stock import event
0 -
so decrementing the stock manually probably won't help consistently

I am not sure about what @UKU1E0ENB said. Maybe it was meant to be like that, but that also couples very distant parts of the system

if the next stock update returns with less than i have reserved, which of the items do i un-reserve then?
0 -
maybe we find some documentation about that?
0 -
the only safe thing to do would be to remove the
reserved
flag once the ERP has assigned the stock and has sent the stock update accounting for that order0 -
i'm thinking the least bad thing would be to unreserve on shipment confirmed (in our case)

maybe we find some documentation about that?

not sure i see the downside of simply decrementing the stock though once the order has been placed / exported
This really depends on what kind of data you get from the WMS. In some cases you get only deltas and need to add/subtract by yourself. In this case it would totally wrong to manipulate the stock in other places.

When you get absolute numbers then itβs not dangerous to manipulate spy_stock. However this is not how it was designed.
0 -
spy_stock mirrors the real inventory which exists in the warehouse.
0 -
um um, yes we have absolutes
0 -
but manyually modifying the stock doesn't really make sense anyway - as it might be erronously overwritten by the ERP stock import before it's processed the order
0 -
True thatβs a good reason to avoid changes there
0 -
guess it boils down to being optimistic or pessimistic
0 -
Just keep the reservation until you get the next stock sync.
0 -
guess it boils down to being optimistic or pessimistic
0 -
Indeed. And you should be too pessimistic
0 -
anyone of you care to give a brief 20 mins talk about that in the not too distant future? π
0 -
What you mean with brief? Talk about business problems with current implementation?
0 -
how about talking about solutions and approaches?
0 -
tipps, tricks
0 -
alternatives?

i am intrested. But probably dunno if my english is good enough for this π
0 -
But this week no time for it
0 -
i can help you translate and rehearse if you want
0 -
would be earliest in 2 weeks
0 -
ok, then should we be live with the upgrade to the latest package versions
0 -
cool! we can also do it one meetup later in 4 weeks, if that fits your timeline better!
