RIP Metaverse... or not?
We can all agree the "Metaverse", as we knew it (or were wowed about it) is dead: Gartner said they are flopping hard, Business Insider even wrote an obituary… But it is true that despite the massive fails from many brands, some of its characteristics are slowly being branched (and branded) into new concepts and potential use cases - some even transational.
An example is Lacoste's "immersive shopping experience": customer loyalty taken to the next level, spiced up with NFTs. Is this a project they had invested too much already to throw it away or an actual differentiator? Time will say.
Any real use cases you can think of? Or maybe absurd examples to confirm how the Metaverse isn't quite dead, but a zombie living off the brains of cash-rich brands? 🧟♂️
