Hi all! Question regarding Spryker Cloud. I heard that in Spryker Cloud you switched to MariaDB as a default DB instead of Prostgres. Is this true? If yes, what are the reasons behind it? Also, is there any impact on switching the existing project using postgres to use MariaDB?

    Hi! I believe MariaDB is beneficial for write performance reasons in our set up. Postgre SQL is still supported. Is there any particular reason, why you are thinking about switching?

    well this was more general question about switching to MariaDB and any issues connected to it , not the migration ๐Ÿ™‚

    So in general, it is rather easy to switch: https://documentation.spryker.com/docs/services#mariadb some compatibility improvements where made here in the 202009 release, also that might not yet be reflected in the manual. But if you are interested in making the switch in an ongoing project, you will need to migrate data. Hence the question regarding the onboarding interview. This would definitely be a good topic for that meeting
